چکیده

An innovation-diffusion model was developed with agent-based modelling (ABM); the model is used to study technical innovation and its diffusion process in China. The results are as follows: only a small fraction of firms conduct independent product-innovation, and most firms prefer imitation and/or purchases; most of the innovative firms are located in the East; approximately three or four technology generation products can exist in the market simultaneously; preferential policies can speed the process of innovation diffusion and improve economies of less developed areas, especially in Middle China; lastly, preferential policies can also improve the labour attractiveness of the Middle, West and Northeast and reduce emigration to the East. JEL classification: L11, O31, O33, R23

An Agent-based Simulation Model for Supply Chain Collaborative Technological Innovation Diffusion

Despite the wideness of the literature on technological innovation, the diffusion of the supply chain collaborative technology innovation has not still received much attention. This paper is an attempt to answer the question that how the supply chain collaborative technological innovations emerge and diffuse. An agent-based model of collaborative supply chain technological innovation including ...

Why Is Building Multi - Agent Models of Social Systems So Difficult ? A Case Study of Innovation Diffusion

Multi-Agent simulation has great potential when it comes to explaining the subtle interactions of heterogeneous actors in complex social systems. In particular, it moves away from a correlative approach based on quantitative variables and towards a processual approach based on social mechanisms. This paper uses a recent EU funded research project (IMAGES) as a case study to explore the difficul...

Organizational Learning and Knowledge Spillover in Innovation Networks: Agent-Based Approach (Extending SKIN Framework)

In knowledge-based economy, knowledge has a public good and non-rivalry nature. Firms build their own knowledge stock not only by means of internal R&D and collaboration with partners, but also by means of previously spilled over knowledge of other firms and public research laboratories (such as universities). Firms based on their absorptive capacity, and level of intra-industry and extra-indus...

Agent-based spatial models applied to agriculture: a simulation tool for technology diffusion, resource use changes and policy analysis

This paper presents a spatial multi-agent programming model, which has been developed for assessing policy options in the diffusion of innovations and resource use changes. Unlike conventional simulation tools used in agricultural economics, the model class described here applies a multi-agent/cellular automata (CA) approach by using heterogeneous farm-household models and capturing their socia...
